It’s all in the content. Keep it relevant and keep in fresh.

We’ve all been there, that moment when you are browsing for a particular site and when you reach it…disappointment. Out of date messages – wishing you a Merry Xmas (in June), the latest blog is 4 months old, the content is tired.

The overwhelming feeling is one of disappointment, which turns quickly into negativity “if they can’t keep their website up to date then how efficient are they at running their business…”

For any size business, content is King. But for small and medium sized businesses where the website is often their main channel of reaching out to the world - content is the King of Kings.

Apple Tree are one firm who really understand this. They are an accountancy firm based in Witney, West Oxfordshire. Apple Tree pride themselves on servicing small businesses, providing a warm friendly approach to all aspects of accountancy and tax services.

Recently, they underwent a complete website update with us. An upgrade in functionality – a site which is now ‘responsive’ (so it fits automatically to any device be it a tablet, desktop computer or phone). A subtle refresh of their design and a trawl through all of their content to ensure it was relevant. The result is a website which is at the top of it’s game. One which easily navigates through all the different parts of their business, the news is ‘new’, the blog up to date and the design is warm, friendly and inviting – a true reflection of their brand values and approach to business.

Our advice is to ensure you regularly check that all of your content is up to date. If you post blogs or ‘news’ ensure you do this regularly and check for those seasonal messages lurking in the depths of your site! Functionality too should be kept up to date and in this age of browsing on the move, we can’t stress enough the importance of a site that is responsive.

Call us for some friendly advice, a chat or to see how we can help ensure your site is as up to date as it can be.
