2025 feels like it went past in a flash! Now, we are in December, and at this time of year it’s become a tradition at Olamalu for us to reflect as a team before the year quietly slips out of the door to make way for all that is new.

Looking back on everything we’ve done, 2025 feels like the year we helped our clients to elevate themselves, whether it was through celebration, improving their websites, new technology or something completely outside of the box. Here’s some highlights of how we helped:

1. Our customers were able to celebrate, digitally

Celebration is an important part of running any organisation. Highlighting the milestones and the achievements, focusing on the new or throwing a spotlight on the legacy of the old. We loved helping Christ Church College to prepare their website for their 500th anniversary celebration. An impressive milestone which became an important message for them through all of their communications channels.

For the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford, we developed a new look and feel for their website in honour of their 25th anniversary. A fresh design to help them to leverage from this important moment.

2025 was also the year we celebrated the launch of a brilliant new online platform for UK teachers called Oxplore Teach. Collaborating with the University of Oxford’s Admissions and Outreach team, we developed the platform which will help to support academic enrichment across the country.

With a centenary anniversary just around the corner, we developed a new website for heritage charity Oxford Preservation Trust, activating their new brand identity through the site and giving it a whole new look and feel.

2. Our customers were able to be their best

Out of the box thinking from us helped Jesus College in Oxford to present their Digital Hub in the best possible way through their website.

The incredible multidisciplinary education, research and events space at Jesus College is a cutting-edge venue with futuristic thinking.  It needed a website that absolutely mirrored the capabilities of the venue. Our years of experience of working with universities coupled with our technical and creative skills delivered crisp and eye-catching design along with dynamic animations resulting in a website that showcases the quality of the space.

2025 also saw us working with world-famous Brasenose College. Founded in 1509 and embracing its successful past, Brasenose is also very much dedicated to looking forward and ensuring their website meets the needs of its students - both current and future - as well as academics and alumni. We were able to use our experience to help them to manage the project, develop a content strategy and assist with photography. We look forward to the site going live very soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed working on the relaunch of the Department of Education’s website at the University of Oxford this year. The new site was seamlessly integrated into the university’s wider systems, and we are helping to ensure that their range of digital properties are taken care of.

3. Our customers enjoyed the extraordinary

For many customers this year, we delivered the extraordinary. Their brief wasn’t for a standard website, but something more…

The Medical Research Council Brain Networks Dynamics Unit needed a new site with content syndication and integration to an academic publication repository. We worked closely with the team, which enabled us to understand their vision and implement exactly what they needed to a really high standard. Being recognised by them with an award for exceptional contribution was the cherry on the cake for us.

Christ Church wanted to use digital display screens around their site and came to us for a solution. We created a system which was easy for them to use and manage and enabled them to optimise their on-site media and distribute content which could be bespoke to a screen, work in clusters or as a complete blanket. This flexible approach allows them to make the most of their screens and to use them as an effective, ongoing content channel.

4. Our customers enjoyed new technical territory

We’ve been a long-term digital partner for a major player in the hotel reservation space. This year we’ve delivered a range of bespoke digital products for their clients as well as digitally modernising their operational systems and helping them through complex PCI compliance.

For INTERGROWTH (The International Fetal and Newborn Growth Consortium), a research project led by the Oxford Maternal & Perinatal Health Institute, we developed a mobile app. Using an approach tailored to their needs, we delivered something which will be critical in helping them to expand the reach of one of their tools.

Working with the Blavatnik School of Government, we flexed our technical muscles and used Drupal to create a bespoke solution for subsites needed by their research groups. Our approach means that it can evolve to meet the changing needs of the organisation over time.

What about us as a business?

Supporting our customers to get the most from their websites

2025 was about ensuring that we stayed on top of our support offering. It’s important to us that our customers have peace of mind through our different support packages and can come to us with any issues, make any updates, request training or more.

Cyber Security

As always, security remained a huge focus of our year.  We ensure that we stay up to date with the ever changing and increasingly demanding world of cyber security and maintained our ISO 27001 certification.

Causes close to our hearts

One of our core values as a business is to support causes close to our hearts. This includes the next generation of developers, local businesses and charities. This year we were proud to show our support through sponsorship and/or the giving of our time and expertise to the following:

Closing the year

We are closing 2025 with a feeling of rejoice - this was a year that makes us proud to have helped so many clients to elevate through our innovative technical solutions to their briefs.

We hope that you too get some time to reflect on the year and to enjoy the festive season ahead. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2026!
