A historical site at the heart of the community
Cogges Farm in Witney, West Oxfordshire is rich in history – the manor house dates back to the 13th Century and appears in the Domesday Book of 1086. Cogges is funded by the National Lottery Heritage fund and is an important part of the Witney community. The Cogges brand has evolved significantly in the last 18 months. An overhaul of the farm, new café, play area, a greater significance on events, weddings, food and the history have made it a real destination for local families and tourists to the area. Add the global appeal of Downton Abbey (the farm is the filming location for ‘Yew Tree Farm’) and things have really moved on for this 13th Century farm!
After building their early website, we provided Cogges with a refreshed design and functionality. The new site needed to showcase the permanent offering – the animals, the history, the café, shop and wedding services as well as showcase the list of art, craft, music and food events, workshops, the filming that is undertaken at the farm, and the beer and cider festivals. The functionality and technology also needed an overhaul.
A light, earthy feeling site which marries perfectly with the Cogges brand. The site is easy to digest, pleasurable to navigate and thanks to new functionalty is totally responsive meaning that visitors can access the information on any device they choose.
