One size doesn’t fit all

One size doesn’t fit all…in most things, actually when you think about it!

In the case of websites, there are some businesses who can use an off-the shelf pre-templated website quite nicely. However, if you want to make the most of your website by using it as one of the strategic tools in your organisation, you need to really spend some time thinking through what you want it to do for you and then work with experts to ascertain the ‘how’.

This year, we’ve played a significant role in developing tech solutions to help a range of organisations to successfully deliver their products and services remotely in response to the lockdown. This included intranets to help support staff working from home, automation of a range of different processes to help clients to ensure things still happen when real people can’t actually be present and helping a range of organisations to use their website to host a virtual event when live ‘in person’ events were cancelled.

Events for many organisations are vital to their ongoing success and are particularly significant for the education sector with their all-important Open Days. Two recent briefs involved us building a virtual Open Day solution for Trinity and Pembroke Colleges in Oxford. The objective was to enable the prospective student to get as real a feel of the college as possible, without actually being there. Our solution was to develop and build a technical solution which led the user on a journey around the college, showing them what it's like to both study and live there. This wasn’t a straight video presentation, but an immersive and interactive experience using a combination of video and animation to bring to life rich and interesting content which answered the key questions for prospective students. The design approach balanced the need to appeal to the target audience whilst reflecting the established brand identities of Trinity and Pembroke. Take a look:

As we continue through 2020 and this new, uncertain world that we all find ourselves in, many organisations are making a continued effort to look at how to deliver better, faster and more efficiently. This changing landscape has enabled us all (to a lesser or greater degree) to spot where there are gaps, weaknesses and indeed opportunities to improve existing processes. Just as importantly, it has also shone a light on what and where the strengths lie in our organisations - no matter how big or small.

If you’ve spotted a gap or weakness in your business, can we help you to solve it with a tailormade tech solution?
