We will spend time understanding the objectives of a website and look at technical solutions to make these work best. We look to creatively make use of existing functionality. This enables us to make the most of the power of the open-source community, and it keeps your costs down. If you need something that's not available, we use our programming expertise to build it for you.
Here are some examples of things we've done using both off-the-shelf and bespoke functionality:
Groups with multiple website editors often have the need for a content publishing process. Using workflow, you can notify an approver of new content when it's created and publish it only on approval. A more advanced implementation allows Oxford Business Mentors to set up mentoring meetings via the website and have automatic e-mail notifications and reminders sent out.
We built an authentication module to hook into the University of Oxford Single Sign on (using University of Stamford's WebAuth)
Registering people for events can be a time-consuming manual process. Allowing people to register online can take the pain out of this process. The Witney Business Breakfast and Witney Big Breakfast websites allow people to register for events and capture the necessary information about the registration. There is an e-commerce add on to this as well, where it is required/
A web community requires the ability for members to participate. User forums allow us to build a social environment for logged in users to share ideas and discuss.
Active Twitter users need to be able to display their Tweets on their website. We built this functionality using Twitter's advanced API. It allows you to specifiy the userid and the query. We donated this back to the Drupal community.
Where there is a need for more targeted communications to a subset of customers, we have developed a bespoke emailing solution which we can adapt to a clients' needs. This is used for example by the West Oxfordshire Business Awards to communicate to different and changing target groups (from potential entrants to a subset of entrants to finalists to award alumni).
If you have a specific project that you need help with, please get in touch. We'd love to discuss your ideas with you.
